Essex County OPP Detachment Board-North

That the appointment of Margaret Misek-Evans as Secretary and Ellen Preuschat as Recording Secretary for the Tecumseh Police Services Board be reconfirmed for the period of January 1, 2020 to the date of the first meeting of the board in 2021.

That Christopher Hales be appointed as Chair of the Police Services Board for the Town of Tecumseh for the period of January 1, 2020 to the date of the first meeting of the board in 2021.

That Paul Sweet be appointed as Vice Chair of the Police Services Board for the Town of Tecumseh for the period of January 1, 2020 to the date of the first meeting of the board in 2021.

That the Agenda for the Police Services Board Meeting, dated Wednesday, March 4, 2020, as duplicated and delivered to the members thereof, be accepted.

That the Regular Minutes of the December 12, 2019 Police Services Board Meeting, as duplicated and delivered to the members thereof, be adopted.

That the OPP Report for the months of December 2019 and January 2020 be received.

That the reports detailed as Items I, 1-3, be received.

That sponsorship of the 2020 OAPSB Spring Conference and AGM taking place May 27-30, 2020, in Toronto, ON, be approved in the amount of $300, in accordance with the 2020 budget.

That the purchase of two tickets for board members to attend the Windsor and Essex County Crime Stoppers 35th Anniversary Celebration taking place on April 25, 2020 be approved.

That correspondence detailed as Items K 1-25, Communications for Information, be received.

Whereas a consensus was reached at the joint meeting of Mayors, Police Services Board Chairs, and Chief Administrative Officers of the Towns of Essex, Kingsville, Lakeshore, Leamington and Tecumseh held on December 18, 2019 in Essex, ON, on the recommendations to the Page 7 Police Services Board Minutes, March 4, 2020, 4:00 pm Solicitor General for a regional approach to the establishment of an OPP Detachment Board; and Whereas this consensus was recorded in the report by Foresight Management Consulting dated January 23, 2020 entitled "OPP Detachment Board Report" (Foresight Report); and Whereas no written objection to the contents of the Foresight Report was received by the Tecumseh Police Services Board; Therefore be it Resolved that the Tecumseh Police Services Board recommend to Tecumseh Town Council that the Mayor send a letter to the Town of Lakeshore, in response to their letter dated January 30, 2020, confirming support for the recommendations as set out in the Foresight Report, with a copy to be sent to the Solicitor General and the other OPP policed municipalities in Essex County.

That the Tecumseh Police Services Board request the Essex County OPP Detachment Commander or delegate report to Town Council to address the results of the 2019 Citizen Satisfaction Survey, including remedial actions taken to address the 10% drop in satisfaction with Policing indicated therein.

That there being no further business to discuss, the Wednesday, March 4, 2020 meeting of the Tecumseh Police Services Board adjourn at 5:45 pm.
